Charger easily finished his conformation championship at all-breed shows in 5 weekends with 4 majors, including a herding group 3 and a herding group 1.
Beside his obvious talent in the conformation ring, Charger also seems to have keen abilities at finding lost items. One day when his pet sitter was playing ball in the back yard with him, the sitter lost a precious ring while throwing the ball. He searched the yard several times to no avail.
Several days later Charger stopped in the middle of the ball game and just stood by a tree, wagging his tail. The sitter called him to come but Charger wouldn’t budge. Upon investigation, the sitter saw that Charger was standing over the lost ring. Needless to say, Charger has a special place in the heart of his pet sitter!
He is my companion, protection, and all-around comedian. Co-owned with my good friend Jane Cooper, he decided to try swimming in the Coopers’ pond last year. True to his name, he leapt into the pond instead of wading in. Luckily, he quickly figured out how to swim to shore.
Charger is presently taking agility classes and hopefully will be able to add a performance title to his name sometime soon. He is also a Champion ball player as evidenced by his yard that looks like Churchill Downs.
